American Express Green Promotion

Postby jdauria » Mon Apr 21, 2014 8:36 am

So I just received my American Express Green card a couple weeks ago (maybe 1 month exactly) and my fiance just received an Amex promotion for the green card....25,000 points, 1st annual fee waived. Can I call Amex and see if I can receive this promotion since I just was approved?

I guess I am very unlucky when it comes to things like this, just missing the boat on the promo. :(

It can't hurt to try, just don't get your hopes up. They have no incentive to give away something that is intended to lure new customers to someone that already in the net.

Of course YMMV so it's worth a shot. Good luck!

In my own experience AMEX won't give you the promotion. When I signed up for the Business Gold Rewards card I did it with a 50,000 MR bonus, the next day in the mail I received a 75k MR bonus offer. Called AMEX and tried to talk them into it but they wouldn't give me the extra bonus, only what I originally signed up for.

Suck I know. I feel your pain.

BUT the age old saying would apply here... timing is everything.

i swear, amex always sends you those better promotion bonuses after you get the card.
my dad has had a card with his local credit union and chase for like 20 years, and those are the only two cards hes ever had.
he rarely got offers in the mail, like NEVER, but about a month ago i convinced him to get the amex PRG.
he got approved with the 50k bonus points, and then a few days later he got an offer from amex for the PRG with a 75k bonus point promo.
ever since he got the PRG, credit card companies have been sending him BUTTLOADS of stuff. it really makes me wonder how easily your info can be bought from amex for...
