Next time I go to WalMart, I have to see if they have any of those EMVs at the checkout. I wanted to use my EveryDay card so badly there the other day but I think I did something that the machine didn't recognize the card I was using. Two of my cards are chip and sig and I requested a replacement card for my Delta and that's supposed to come with a chip as well.

My PRG I got in late May came without one. The BCE has yet to arrive.

I believe that by default they come without EMV but you may call and have an EMV card shipped to you. Not all AMEX cards have EMV capability yet though. The PRG and BCE both for sure have EMV, just call and ask for the card if you want it.

Here in Colorado, the WalMart stores have the EMV technology enabled, not just for AMEX. One can just insert the card in the slot, if it's an EMV card, or swipe if it's not. I've used my non-EMV Zync card there a few times and just swiped as usual. The first time I used my Gold card there, with the EMV chip, I got the message to insert the card in the slot. Same with the BCP. Now, I just insert all my EMV-chipped cards and don't worry about a swipe first.

It threw me the first time I went there with my EVM Bankamericard.
Because the readers at my Walyworld are the older gray models I didn't even see the slot.
When the "Insert card" message popped up I was like WTF?

...

Then I knocked the reader off the stand.

I know, I know, Pictures, I will get some next time I am there.

The only thing to be aware of is that Walmart does not accept EMV debit card at this moment (they can be swiped). Charles Schwab now issues chip-and-signature debit card upon request.

Also something to be aware of, the Wells Fargo Propel 365 card, which is through the AMEX network, is Chip and PIN. Don't forget your PIN!
