Wouldn't surprise me as it's all marketing -- though I've generally always heard of the shops for my offers.

Can't you parlay that in to a $5 gift card?

Now the tuff part: what app to buy (app I am guessing), thats useful enough and costs little over $5?

I just realized I have a $30+ worth of iTunes credit right now. I'm not likely to spend all that and then put $5+ on my Platinum card before the end of the month.

Looks like I won't be cashing in on this one...

Just got in an offer for $5 off $25 at petsmart. $30 off $150 at Zappos. $5 of $25 at souplantation/sweet tomatoes. If I can get enough of these throughout the year... maybe I'll just downgrade to the regular Gold and hang onto it. But then again, I'm sure the AE/AEP get these offers too...bleh... *set reminder for app time in september for the AEP*

not sure if i`m answering your question..

but i`m guessing what you're trying to say is how does one get the offer? if so you have to go to American Express> log in> scroll all the way down> Select "Offers" and then just add the ones you want- I usually just add all the ones that are offered just in case..
