Received my Card!

Postby click23 » Tue Apr 01, 2014 10:20 am

Last Thursday I applied for a Blue Cash Preferred card and was approved $2,000 credit limit, and I believe a 20.99% apr. The high APR does not bother me as I plan on PIF every month.

I received the card yesterday and activated it, I can't wait until our first trip to the grocery store.

Experian 745
Transunion 775
Equifax 708

My FICO score that came with the card is 711. I currently have two other cards, a US Bank Platinum with a balance of $5,000 on a CL of $10,000, and a Chase Freedom card with no balance on a CL of $7,100. I also have a $0 balance on CNFA Firestone account with a limit of $2,200. Over the next few months my plan is to pay down my outstanding balance, request a 3x CLI on the BCP, and to either try to do a PC on the US Bank Platinum to a cash plus card or apply for a Capital One Quicksilver card.

One question that I have, and I have searched and only found contradictory information, is when do I apply for my 3x CLI? On my online account it states "Recent Charges $0.00 Since March 27", if this is the date it would be May 27th. If it goes from my activation date it would be May 31.

March 27th. So you could go for it May 28th. (61 days)

Still doesn't hurt to ask for a lower APR whenever you call in too! :-)

Haha, so true. I pretty much ask for a lower APR every time I call for something. I also ask if I qualify for any BT promotions or special programs of any sort whether I plan to use them or not. In fact it's been three or four months since my last call, maybe it's time...

While on this subject, the word on the street is Amex has dropped the 61 day wait to ~30 for a CLI. Any intel on this Travis?

I haven't received any communication about that change. Where did you hear that? I'll try to confirm.

I just received my blue cash preferred card as well. (Yesterday) Pretty excited about using this card because my car is a gas guzzler and I tend to fill up every week with premium. $8,000 limit right off the bat, so no complaints there.

One question, Amex gives your credit score with all the paperwork, and it showed: FICO 770. That's great! I am an monthly subscriber to Experian, and my score is only 728 on EXP? What gives for the big difference between bureau's?
