I'd sign a petition for him to get on your Ring bandwagon (or, at least, the trend a post on MF attributed to you reviving).

Or one for him to get a third Barclaycard Rewards card,
Warranties and sketchy merchants: Schwab Platinum
Price rewind: Costco
Travel insurance: Prestige, CSP
Perks: IHG, Hyatt
Rewards/Offers: Discover, Freedom, ED, BCE
Taxes/Misc: SPG

Limited value, might close: Arrival

Might add: First Tech, proper business card

Lol.

I mostly would sign it because they've eliminated backdating.
But sure, If the OP wants to get a Ring MC, I'd support them in doing that.

I'd rather he was trolling than honest. The total lack of morality combined with the ego mania is not a good thing. Yeah I burned Amex too but I'm sure not proud of it and never thought they "owed" me a living or a card or anything just because I'm so damn wonderful and adorable. My parents might have worshipped the very ground I walked on and told me I'm God's gift to the world if not God, but it never went to my head. This sounds a lot like the sort of people who think they are just owed massive tax cuts that the rest of us who work hard for a living should pay for, because we have it so damn good just making a living and they have it so rough with big trust funds. Whatever.

So I hope he's a troll rather than for real. At least if he's trolling it's funny. If not, he's pathetic in my view, massive trust fund and hot supermodel and expensive sports car or not. Take away the trust fund and let's see where he goes.

I don't need AMEX, but AMEX needs card holders! HURTIN'!

Yup, looks like the company is cursed on top of all else.

Man, this post was 9 pages of fun stuff to read!

I had fallen behind with Amex about 2 years and they closed my account with a $10K balance. I was paying a little over the minimum, but they had also sent my account to collections because of a missed payment. I paid it off in full and opened a new account a couple months ago. I wouldn't have dreamed of attempting to get a new account without the old one being paid off. The only reason I even attempted it was because I got the Citizens card, and figured another inquiry at that point wouldn't have mattered either way. I had gotten some decent CLI on other cards and it came with a decent limit (for me), and I'm actively working to change how I use and manage my credit cards. I still have some late payments on my history, but have no charge-offs and don't owe anything on closed cards any more.

I'm with everyone else here, I don't understand the entitled mentality that Amex is hurting for business because you screwed them out of $200K in the past and now won't take you back. Yes, you can have a second chance, but acting like the company you cheated out of that much money should be graveling at your feet to give you a second chance is not how life works. People like you are what give trust fund babies bad names.
