For the OP -- need to clarify, you're talking about the Plat Delta Card vs the Gold Delta Card, correct? I think some of us read and replied on the basis of the Gold CHARGE card versus the Platinum CHARGE card. I re-read your original post and you mentioned the offer for the bonus miles, which of course would indicate you were talking about the Delta cards. If so, the underwriting is different for the revolvers; however, the Delta cards in general, and again anecdotally, are among the easiest of the AMEX cards to get, since they are co-branded and the underwriting is a bit more relaxed. And again, the underwriting for the Gold Delta card and the Platinum Delta card are likely the same.

Yes! I apologize for the confusion... I had been asking about the Amex Delta Gold vs Amex Delta Platinum.

I accepted the offer, which was for the Delta Platinum, but American Express' website automatically transferred me to the Delta Gold card. I applied and was automatically approved!

I'm thrilled because I have waited for this card over a year and I finally received it!

Thanks to everyone for giving me the knowledge I needed to know it was OK to apply again!
