One of my friends owns a Rolex, and he let me hold it once, wow! Them things are heavy. But real gold is heavy! I just have to stick to my. Casio for now. Nothing like a rubber wristband and digital clock. Hey, I have a stopwatch feature on it and an alarm! Not to mention the back light to see in the dark.

I got a rose gold (colored) Burberry watch for my graduation. It's nothing too fancy, but she is a beauty.

For that price, it aint no base model 000 pam that's for sure. My friend used to work at Tourneau...he once sold a 230k vacheron constantin. With the commission he bought an Altima haha.

There are many brands that make watches in that price range. Vacheron, yes. Patek Philippe, Greubel Forsey, Richard Mille, A Lange & Sohne, and many others. That's really cool though. I have a Rolex that I put on my CSP last year, but it didn't cost anywhere near that. I would've liked to watch that 120K transaction take place as long as it wasn't on my card haha. 350K-600K watches are fairly common in some of the high end watch brands. Crazy.

I too have seen $100k+ purchases on Amex cards before, just crazy to see!

I love watches, some people don't get it but once you buy your first "expensive" watch, you almost get addicted. I have a Rolex Explorer which is very entry-level, but I am already looking into getting a Green Submariner! Been looking for a second hand one for a couple months now (would never buy new).

It's like that with many things. Experience can definitely change one's perception.

I couldn't agree more. It got worse when I started frequently going to "the rolex forums." I bought a GMT Master II Blue/Black and have been saving for a 2nd Rolex ever since. (DSSD) I will be collecting them the rest of my life. Horribly expensive thing to collect, but I just can't help it.

Expensive to collect yes, but you can go anywhere in the world and sell it for market value. Anytime, anywhere. Those are good assets to have in my opinion.
