As every time I've called in the past 2 years (which admittedly isn't frequent), whether it be via the Platinum, True Earnings, Simply Cash, SPG or BCE, I've always spoken to an American-based CSR. So, in my own personal experience, Amex is still right up there with Chase.

I wonder if Platinum membership upgrades the C/S on all of your other cards. I haven't been offshored since I got the Plat.

Also, post #1000!

Wow - that doesn't sound right! Sounds like you may have a spanish servicing note on your account! Please check your inbox for a message from me!

I lived in Hawaii the whole time I had the card except for one year I was in Africa. I just moved to the mainland a few weeks ago, it doesn't seem to matter when you call as far as I can tell. Maybe it's just me

Congrats on reaching M!

Unless the numbers on the back of all your cards match I doubt it. On the chance it makes a difference--not so much--I always call the number on the back of my Platinum card and give my Platinum account number no matter what card or issue I am calling about.

Amex have a call centre in Brighton here in the UK. With my UK Amex cards I always get through to someone in the UK, US or Australia. They'd never get away with Indian customer service here though, no financial company uses an Indian call centre here anymore.

Here in the US it's another story. A few years back I was working at a place and one of the more colorful IT guys (non programming) commented how "We have Dell Gold support, and you still have to talk to an Indian".
