So glad that we were able to help you, Kaiokenryu! Were you able to report your wallet stolen before it could be used?

Question,

I`m planing on changing phone companies in a few months(waiting for my current contract to end). Say i get my new contract and pay my new phone with my PRG card will my new phone have protection with Amex -since technically i wont be paying full retail for the phone?

thanks!

Extended Warranty would be applied as normal - Purchase Protection would only cover up to the amount you paid on the card for 90 days. Hope this helps!

I also have a question.

The other day, my wife bought some clothes for our daughter at the Tommy Hilfiger store, using the Amex Platinum card. Not sure what happened, but she either misplaced the goods or somebody took the bag when she went to a cafe for some lunch. Either way, she came home empty handed. The total bill was "only" about $50. Will that be covered by the Purchase Protection?

Thanks

Yes - that would be covered on a Platinum charge card.

This is one of the great things about AmEx. I love purchase protection, extended warranty, and Global Assist.

On a different subject, not to hijack my own thread....today i got questioned on why i used amex to pay for a $1.58 microfiber towel. The educator's blood in me was as patient as Job in the bible. I retorted "give me a sensible reason that it is bad and I will refund and pay how you want me to pay".

they came back with its too small an amount to use credit. Debit makes more sense.

I came back with "Target. "there are smarter people out there than I working while I sleep to take my money. why give them the chance by giving them the key to my financial house. the first rule of money my dad taught me is never put your money at risk when someone else has given you permission to leverage theirs."

He said "interest"

I said "no preset spending limit"

I then followed up leaving the job with "treat it like cash...it forces you to budget ....and you will never get bitten"

seeing him feeling like an ass....I shook his hand and gave him a business card and would not leave till he had a smile on his face.....I try to leave people better than i found them.
