Good question, I've been curious about this as well.

Hi all,
I do not see the link to apply for the Preferred one. Also, it says that the welcome bonus might not be offered if the applicant already had an account with Amex. I already had Blue Sky, does it mean I could not get 10,000 points after using 1,000 in 3 months?

Hi Daniel - the Preferred version can be found on the All Cards tab. As for the welcome bonus, you would be eligible. They need to change the wording on that. The rule is that you won't be eligible if you've had that card before.. Which since this is a brand new card wouldn't be possible. Hope that helps :-)

Thanks travis,
From your knowledge, should I reduce my credit limit with Amex to improve my chance to be approved for this card? I have 26,200 on my Blue Sky (since I just did a random 3X CLI a couple months ago). This alone outweighs all my other cards, so I wonder if I have met the internal limit from Amex yet. I'm willing to give more personal information via message if you would request. Thanks!

Travis, I am assuming that the Everyday cards accrue MR points in different buckets than the charge cards. If this is the case, are there transfer options to move MR from charge cards over to the Everyday MR account?

I just called AMEX to try to product change an existing card into the Everyday card. They said I couldn't change to the Everyday but I can change it into any other no annual fee product such as the BCE. I guess AMEX is just preventing product changes to the Everyday and Everyday Preferred for the time being because they're so new.
