Let's see.... 3% on my current Blue card or 2% on the new card. Gonna have to run that through a spread sheet.

Looks like my Blue card has become more valuable than I thought. New members better get signed up fast; I dont see the old cards sticking around for long. Thanks Travis.
Gold American Express, since 1979,
back when it meant something.
And a few other cash back cards as well.

My prayers have been answered. I was actually considering downgrading my PRG to Green card. I don't fly or put anywhere near the $30K annual spend to offset the $175 annual fee. Now I could look into converting over to one of these cards.
Amex PRG, Amex EveryDay, Amex BCE, Barclaycard Arrival, Cap One Venture One, CSP, Chase Freedom, Discover it, Macy's Star Card, Wells Fargo Propel 365 Amex, Wells Fargo Visa Sig

I only have one concern now. No annual fee for MR points, while I am paying $25 for the zync card (mre points). I really want to keep the zync, but looks like I have to apply for one of those to be able to make my points more valuable. Is it possible to PC from the Hilton this new card to save an inquiry?

I have an update for those of you enquiring on product changing to this card - I went into the office last night and learnt that this is one of the cards that will not be able to have any type of product change (like JetBlue and TrueEarnings). The reason for this particular card's restriction is due to the [20% or 50%] bonusing structure tied to the card. The only way to get this card will unfortunately be to apply. Sorry in advance for any confusion or disappointment.

Drat. I was thinking about changing my Blue (yes, regular old Blue) to this. No worries though people, your original Member Since date would appear on the new card. It would only cost an inquiry.

Thanks for all of your inside info on this!

That's exactly right - and if approved and you wanted to close your old card down, we would be able to immediately "reallocate" all but $1,000 of your credit limit to your new card so that you wouldn't be throwing that away. Just be sure to ask for that because many representatives will not proactively offer it.

It's interesting they won't allow a PC. I would imagine a BCP card is more expensive for Amex than the EP card. (Of course, I am assuming that they get a break on the transfer side for points, or wholesale pricing for amex travel - versus costing them 1 cent per point on the cash side)
Everyday Preferred $45K | Amex Platinum NPSL | Delta Platinum $30K | Chase Sapphire Reserve $74.5K | Discover IT $42K
