Ordered mine today, I called and the person I spoke to assured me confidently over and over again that EMV Chip is not available on that card. I said it may be and asked if he could check, he said it wasn't available, I asked to speak to someone else and was put on hold for about five minutes. The same guy came back on and said he was sorry and I was correct. Card should be here Friday.

CSR I chatted with wasn't aware that Chip & Signature was now available but after some digging he was able to get it processed.

This doesn't always work but so far I've had -better- luck when I do this. When I call CS for anything no matter what card it is I call the number on the back of my Platinum card and give my Plat acct number. In my mind, I'd like to think this will increase my chances of a better CS experience. For all I know all the numbers on the backs of all cards may connect me to the same place. So far though the (US based) CSRs have delivered when it comes to answering my questions. I was able to get a EMV Platinum card very shortly after it as available with no problem.

Obviously this only works for folks with a Platinum card and it's possible that it doesn't work at all and I have just been lucky :-) so...YMMV

I think that may be changing due to competition. Chase has announced in a turn about that they have decided to offer chip/pin due to the enhanced security it provides. If others don't follow suit wait for the inevitable commercials showing how Chase security is superior to the competition, e.g. AMEX. I think AMEX is smart enough to know this would be coming and wouldn't wait for that first impression (which are hard to change) to be implanted in public mind.

Got my new card today. Wish it had chip and pin but I'll live. It looks very different to the old one. Honestly like it a lot more but the Delta Widget is big and bold on this one.
