Green Card Question

Postby Praetorian » Wed Feb 12, 2014 9:25 pm

Just got approved for a Green Card. I was wondering if there is a minimum monthly spending amount? I will not be using the card too much over the next couple of months but I will after that. Will they cancel my card if I do not use it a certain amount?

Nope, as long as you pay the annual fee, they don't really care; no minimum as of now

When you get up to the Centurion card, then you have to meet a minimum spend. $250,000 in a year, on another card first, as I recall.
Gold American Express, since 1979,
back when it meant something.
And a few other cash back cards as well.

Ummm Member79 where are you getting this information from? Even with a Centurion there is no minimum spending amount on any card every month? Perhaps those were the old requirements in terms of getting it but not to keep it or any cards in that matter.
Wells Fargo Platinum 2.100 (5/2011-cld 7/12/14)
AmEx Platinum (6/12)
Barclays Apple (6/12)
AMEX Gold Delta (5/13)
Marriott Rewards (7/14)

My credit score

Interesting someone did an AMA on Reddit that claimed that Amex reviewed their financial information annually to make sure they were still worthy of the card.

Although it seemed fishy to me, I don't know that many people with that much money willing to turn over that type of information every year.
Everyday Preferred $45K | Amex Platinum NPSL | Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve $45K | Delta Platinum $30K | Chase Sapphire Preferred $64K | Citi Hilton HHonors $45K | Discover IT $25K

Note the "as I recall". I use IIRC if I don't feel sufficiently certain.

Ummm yeah this is the same individual whom put up two different threads stating that the Centurion fee was going to increase without any type of information backing up that claim.

Got another general question. Roughly how many points does an average airline ticket cost?

Do a google search and numerous site, including the review on this site, current as of 2013, say the same thing. Note, I don't say that is a requirement every year.

Sorry if they are all wrong.

Each airline charges a different amount of points. Even though they may fly to the same destination.
