For Those of You w/ the SIMPLY CASH AMEX...

Postby Z06Biker » Wed Feb 05, 2014 2:45 pm

I might be a little late to the party, but they recently announced that the 3% part of the perks package (originally just for U.S. gas stations) has expanded to seven categories:

1) airfare purchased from airlines
2) hotel rooms purchased from hotels
3) car rentals purchased from select car rental companies
4) U.S. gas stations
5) U.S. restaurants
6) U.S. purchases for advertising in select media
7) U.S. purchases for shipping

Granted, you can only choose one of these seven, but suddenly it has become more competitive with the CSP with their 3% back (up to $25K) on dining...

Just a little FYI. Carry on.

All fine and dandy, but 3x UR > $0.03.

Very true. 1 UR = approx $0.027+, right?

While I was on the line with Amex asking them to change my 3% back category, I asked if they could waive my 2nd year's annual fee for the SPG ($65), or I'd PC it. Sure enough, they waived it.

Never hurts to ask!
