Finally approved for a BCE!

Postby tezail3 » Tue Feb 04, 2014 10:09 pm

I've applied for amex cards at least twice before, and they've always declined me. However, I spent about three years since my initial application working on my credit by building up my history and disputing the baddies on my CR, and I decided to finally try again. I finally got approved AND for a CL that almost made me pass out. I was expecting only $1k or something as the highest limit on my other cards is $2.2k, but they approved me for $8.6k! I'm just so happy to finally add an amex (and CSP in the same day huzzah!) to my wallet.

I have a question, though. I've been looking around these boards and google to try and understand the 61 day CLI thing, but I'm just not sure when to start counting the days. Is it from when I got approved or when I receive the card and activate it? Not that I'll need a higher limit right now, but hey it won't hurt to try.

:)

Thanks to both of you so much :)

I don't think I'll ask for the full 3x as I don't think I'll ever need a 25k limit, plus I don't want them to FR me lol. But it's good to know I have that option!

Travis, quick question,

I spent about $12-14k each month for the first half of 2013 on my Amex Plat card. The next 2/3rd of the year was around $22k monthly with $25-28k each in Oct-Dec.

Now in 2014 I'm doing about $38k in Jan, and now average $1-3k everyday since. My FICO is 650ish.. When would I be Centurion eligible and is this something I can call and ask for to apply?

Thanks
