Requested CLI on BCE

Postby DeeJay8385 » Mon Jan 27, 2014 1:58 pm

Hey Forum,
Yesturday, I called CS to request a CLI on BCE. It was my 61st day yesturday and this is my second attempt. The first attempt was 11/26 and I was denied. I'm hope that I do get approved. My BCE CL is $1000 and I requested a CL of $2500. Do you guys think that I'll get denied again? I used my card modestly, mostly for gas and a few shopping. What do you guys think? Also nothing has really changed with my CR except for a recent CLI on my discover IT card and a barclaycard with a $2,000 CL.

It is 61 days from account opening (according to your signature you opened your card in Sept 2013) that you request the CLI for. Since you requested one already on 11/26, you have to wait six months from 11/26 to request another CLI; so you will most likely be denied for this reason.

Actually, I think the 6 month rule only applies if you got the CLI in the first place. Since you haven't gotten one yet, there's still a possibility. Sorry for the confusion, this is straight from AMEX's website:

"How can I apply for a line of credit increase for my American Express Card?

We do not increase an account's credit limit during the first 60 days after it has been opened, or for at least 6 months from the last credit limit increase"

Good luck, I hope you get it! Just out of curiosity, what was the reason given to you for your denial of a CLI in November?
