Amex could just use a black metal for the chip instead, have your concierge look into it for you
And if that's not an option, there's always a sharpie aka "cover up" for that zit
The chip might not survive that. The chips tend to become unreadable relatively easy. I've had one or two fail in the last decade.

I just saw my first EMV chip reader at Subway. Sadly it wouldn't work with my Amex. Gold.
Gold American Express, since 1979,
back when it meant something.
And a few other cash back cards as well.
