Wife convinced me AMEX was going to do FR.

Postby Obi-dan » Sat Jan 25, 2014 1:39 am

So yesterday my wife app'd for a Costco Amex as she needed a full set of tires and we found a good price there. So I told her to apply for their card and that way she could start a relationship with Amex.

Now when I try to talk to my wife about the nuances of credit just she usually says something about a "nerd" and walks away.

Today she said Amex called and they said they couldn't approve until we completed some forms for a financial review and filed our 2013 taxes. Oh, and also that since I was going to be an authorized user or her card they had frozen mine until the process was over. It should only be 60 days after we file our taxes.

Watching the panic spread she laughed and laughed and said it was approved no problem. And then she laughed some more. At least I guess she's been listening.

Yeah that was good. As I'm reading it I'm like they don't do things that way - they typically approve you THEN FR you. Anyway that was good!
