Are Amex offers targeted to card owner logins?

Postby Kaiokenryu » Tue Jan 14, 2014 10:10 pm

When I log into my American Express portal I get the "My offers-spend and save" tab.

My question is:

Is this all i am limited to to reward me for using my card? How else can i find out any partnerships that may reward AMEX cardholders so that i can make this card equitable to the other card in my wallet?

Do platinum/gold/green cardholders see something different in the My Offers tab than I do cause we hold different cards>

I hold the "One" card that was discontinued about three years ago.

I think some offers are targeted to specific demographics (age, location, etc) personally but it seems others have said they received certain offers on some cards but not others. Not sure I was only approved for my second amex this week.

I have three cars and all my offers are the same regardless of which card I look under.

Now, they could just be consolidated...
American Express (2005): Premier Rewards Gold & Blue Cash Preferred
Chase: Freedom & UA Club USAA: Signature Visa & American Express
Discover it Bank of Hawaii Hawaiian Airlines WEMC Synchrony Sam's MC
Navy FCU Platinum Visa Citi Double Cash & AT&T Access MC

The offers are different for different cardmembers.

For example, some cardmembers received an offer for Best Buy, but I didn't.
Merrick Bank (Hooters) 4100
Cap One Quicksilver 2800
Discover it 2500
Citi Forward 5400
Chase Freedom 1000
AMEX Blue Cash Everyday 5500
Citi Dividend 5600
Cap One Visa Platinum 750 (CLOSED)

what bothers me is that i never need any of the promotions when they are posting them.

Like the staples post above: My printer will die 2 weeks after expiration of that promo....and I still have to spend the money...I have a business card that i would use in that case....but the points earned would not come close to 25 back to me on a 100 purchase.

I don't know how people time this stuff...lol

Another poster in another thread mentioned to buy an Amazon gift card at Staples.

I just added the offer to my card for the purpose. I bought an e-Amazon card with the Amazon offer before X-Mas.

With this offer, I'll have spent $200 with $50 back. Anyone who shops Amazon often will use this tactic to get rewards.

I have had my card for months and I only get restaurant offers and best buy offers. Maybe it's just because if the area I live in.
