Just Upgraded

Postby AMEXAT19 » Sun Jan 12, 2014 6:17 pm

Hey guys, have some good news! Just upgraded my PRG to Platinum! I'm so excited!
I have one question though was considering applying for a revolver since I'm a cardmber is that a hard or soft pull?

If you are approved it's a hard pull. If you are declined a soft pull.

If you care to share, I'd like to know why you made the switch?

I did not get an upgrade bonus, tried to wait it put for one. I chose to switch after many hours of reviewing the card by myself and with representatives. It was hard to switch knowing with my PRG I could get another 15,000 MR points for meeting then yearly spend like last year, but I decided with the benefits it offers I could forfeit that for a year while I try this card out.

Congratulations on your Platinum Card, AMEXAT19! Which benefit are you looking most forward to using?

Hey Travis,

I currently have Premier Rewards Gold and Delta Skymiles and was denied a 61 day 3x cli due to not enough history with AMEX It is limit at 1k and asked for 3k however was not approved did I apply to early or did I really get denied meaning I have to wait 90 days for another request. and BTW do AMEX employees get a discount on AF cards or waived AFs?

Rackham12,

From what I can gather on your other forum posts and from what you've told me, you were simply denied due to a lack of history with American Express. Just use your card a lot, have a great payment history and after six months (that's how often we review accounts for eligibility), reapply for a CLI and you should have better chances. American Express employees also get no special consideration when it comes to getting new cards or the annual membership fees.
