It has been slightly disappointing losing benefits through the AMEX Plat. I just opened up a Chase Freedom card and will probably open up SP card as well in the near future. I wonder if Amex will continue to add more benefits for the Plat holders that just lost American and US airways lounges.

I know that recently they added the Hilton Honors gold benefit which is a plus.
Travel Perks: AMEX Platinum, SPG Amex ($16300), Chase Sapphire Preferred ($11600)
5% Rotating Cashback: Discover IT ($5800) , Chase Freedom Signature Visa ($10000)
Low APR Card (7.99%): CFCU ($5000)
Co-Branded Card: Barclays Apple Visa ($3800)

Future: BCP, Close Apple Visa and open Arrival

Got the same yesterday for my Platinum. If they would make more Centurion lounges then I wouldn't so much.

Finally got my email today and received absolutely no offer to make up for the loss of lounge access. This makes me want to cancel it more. I only have to wait 15 more days...

Try calling them. Say you are really disappointed to lose the lounge access and know others who got offered a credit as a way to make up for it. Doesn't hurt to try.

How often do you use the lounge access? I only use the Sky Club access so I figure that's why I didn't get offered compensation...

I haven't yet. But, I have two trips coming up when it would be useful.

I got the letter in the mail however about it and I live in Texas it did say that i would get access to the centurion lounge at DFW airport so not complaint there i guess never seen or used it but if needed i will try it. It also said that i would keep the 200. credit. however i have the citi AA world executive card so i get access to the AA admirals lounge regardless. can anyone tell me more about this centurion access that i now have. And why do i get the feeling this could have something to do with the merger between AA and US Airways seeing that DFW is the main hub.

Been a while since I posted on here. I got the email too...I frequently fly Hawaiian airlines almost weekly interisland...but Hawaiians lounge sucks ass. I was using the American airlines admirals lounge every week. Sometimes after my day, to unwind before heading home. I called amex, and they told me that they are eliminating the perk but not any priority pass access. Lucky for me, my AA lounge in Honolulu accepts priority pass....however, I just went to the lounge yesterday before a flight to maui and was told the bad news...that the lounge is also eliminating priority pass as well...waaaaaa :( the 2 other lounges I have access to in my home airport are both absolute rubbish...just 70s aloha furniture and free soda. Im not sure if im going to stick with amex at this point...kind of sad.

The only time I have used the Honolulu sky club was flying with delta to Atlanta. On their website it says you can get access with a sky club membership, and a ticket from any airline that day. Do you only fly delta? Have you ever got in with a Hawaiian ticket?

I fly Delta so I can use the Sky Club and have the miles post to my Hawaiian miles account. I think I recall hearing the Sky Club can be used in airports without a Hawaiian lounge--like SFO. I haven't tried to gain access with a HA ticket though. My next Delta trip out of HNL is on Feb 2nd, I'll ask then...

Unless you use other perks it seems your Plat card has outlived its usefulness. Mine just renewed in Aug so I have a while to calculate if it is still worth it for me...
