AMEX's My Offers are a nice alternative to typical 1-5% quarterly rewards.
For example, Chase's 5% reward at Amazon required you spend $500 to get $25 back. But AMEX trumps it: only spend $75 to get $25 back.
These pointed offers are great if shop the vendors they provide or always wanted to. In that regard, it's a mixture of Groupon/Amazon Local with a credit-card, cashback twist.
Amazon was a no-brainer but could have been even better. An offer at Best Buy also would have been good.
I have one more offer to use: spend $150 on Amtrak, get $30. (And I already get 15% off Amtrak with Student Advantage.)
Anyway, I'm loving AMEX so far.

I've been putting most of my spend on the Barclay card I've more than met the spend for the 400 bonus already, now waiting for the Citi card to arrive to do the same with it.
