Points for Blue Sky

Postby BonusPack » Wed Nov 20, 2013 12:05 pm

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knows or has had experience with the points on blue sky. I opened up the card not too long ago and was wondering when exactly I would start seeing the points I've earned show up in my account.

I know they will show up eventually so I'm not too worried but I'm just curious.

Thanks! :)

They'll post when the statement posts. Bonus points may take longer. Remember, there are silly restrictions on redeeming them, too. Read the fine print.

Hi BonusPack!

Your Blue Sky points will show up at the close of the following cycle. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any additional questions!

What are some examples of the "silly" restrictions? I recently redeemed a $100 credit on my trip to Vegas next month with my Blue Sky (non-preferred).

You can either call Amex, or do it online in your log-in. I did the latter, and asks you what charge you want to apply it to (in my case, my Vegas trip via whatever-website-I-booked-it-with, since that's the only travel I've booked on the card this year). Cannot apply it to any non-travel charges.

It'd be silly to apply it towards something like a wi-fi charge in-flight, although I don't think you can anyway. It has to be a single redemption of $100/increment of 7500 Blue Sky pts.

Otherwise yes it takes until the statement cuts for points. If you're good on paying on time, I recommend asking for bonus points via chat before, and I've been given free points. Never hurts to ask!

When I opened my Blue Sky, I was getting a little nervous about the length of time that it took for my bonus points to post.
According to my chat records, it takes 6-8 weeks for bonus points to post, and a month for ordinary points.
