Name on Credit Card: What Are My Options?

Postby GoCreditGo! » Wed Nov 06, 2013 11:30 pm

I wanted to put my initials on the credit card instead of my full name. Does anyone know what their policy on changing your name is?

You have to have at least your first initial and your entire legal last name. I know that Visa recently passed a regulation that the entire name could not exceed a certain amount of digits.

But you can call AMEX and ask them to put your initials on; such as J. R. Doe or J. Ronald Doe etc.

Thanks for that. I just found my old platinum card that read: Sir A R W K E McCloud. Apparently they used to allow only all your initials.

I always think of the Amex commercials with the card name C.F. Frost

I am sure you can initial first and middle name with complete last name.
