Just realized something

Postby MemberSince99 » Wed Nov 06, 2013 1:08 pm

I read a post about someone on MYFico hitting their BCP spend (1000 for a 250 bonus) and that reminded me how when I called to find out the closing date for my card I asked the rep if I had any sign up bonus on the card and she checked and said yes you get 250 for 1000 spend in 3 months or something like that. Well I easily hit that and never got the bonus.

Honestly not sure if I should call and point that out (after all they do say they record the calls for "quality assurance purposes") and fight for it, or just take it as another reason why other lenders deserve more of my spend as opposed to Amex. I've heard that people have been told that before and Amex tried to gyp them and they had to fight like hell to get it later and some never did. That's just flat out dishonest really.

Not sure if I REALLY care but I'll take that into consideration as I consider who gets the swipes. I pulled out my Associated today for gas and will for groceries tonight instead of BCP and that's the plan going forward is to put more on the Duck and Associated card and away from CSP and the Amex cards. Maybe that is the way to go and just let the money go.

Okay, seriously. If you don't like it you don't have to use it, even before your hiatus you were posting this stuff. Frankly you're coming across a bit as they psycho ex who can't let go.

Maybe the Amex bear just forgot to credit your account. Just call them and they'll fix it. Now, if you wanna risk poking the Amex bear by threatening to put your gas and grocery purchases on your no-name cards, then do so at your own risk.

It's probably a five to ten minute phone call and it's worth $250. Works out to $1250 per hour. For that much, damn straight I'd call.

Just because you have your head up Amex's behind smooching it up, doesn't mean it's not a legitimate issue.

The question to me is, is it worth pursuing with them. I'm not entirely sure. They do make it a PITA from what I hear when this happens to get what they promised you.

Anyway, if you don't like my posts, I'd just like to repeat myself here - please find the "ignore user" option, and use it. Problem solved, or are you one of those guys who would rather bitch and moan how he's out of beer than get up from the football game and grab another cold one out of the fridge?

Oh well, really no skin off my balls if you don't like my posts but for some bizarre reason read them anyway. No one is forcing you to do it, so it's strictly YOUR choice.

It's all fun and games to beat up on Member, right?

FFS...I disagree with the guy most of the time, but this thread goes over the line. It's turning into a bullying session.

If I've ever taken it to a similar level, I apologize, Member.
