I did - you can't, or at least, I can't. All they had when I used that last night was an FAQ section, a message saying you can't email them, and a list of phone numbers. They had changed it since at one point I did use the message area to contact them. Beats me why but it's unfortunate.

Amex has really gone downhill. Even Barclaycard has secure messaging. Does live chat work? http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Amex-canceling-Secure-Messaging/td-p/2352517

No, it just gave me a code, that I could give the rep to share my screen, but I would still have to call them. That's all I saw and I dug trying to find something, so if it's there I'm either a total idiot who missed the blindingly obvious or they really hid it well.

I tend to have good success with Amex's Twitter team. If they need personal info, they can send you a link to a secure chat.

I'm on Amex's live chat right now. I'll ask if there's a direct link. I don't see it on the website either, but I was able to connect through Twitter.

Here's the report, direct from the Amex Twitter rep's keyboard:

It pops up randomly throughout the site. Mainly on the payments page or if you go to the contact us link. . . . It populates randomly if you're idle on a page but it does not always happen.

Twitter always works.
