I'm joking and not attacking him personally. I think he takes things to personally. I think that's good feedback.

I'm not a fan of bullying and wouldn't condone such actions.

Also, Amex is overrated. I've been telling this to anyone who will listen. They are great at marketing and selling you things that you think you need.

FB you are right they are over-rated. I just went and checked my first three statements to verify what I knew - that I met the spending requirement. I spent $1516.62 according to their own statements on the first three of them. Therefore I met the spend requirement.

So I go to contact them via email, and they took that away. Then I try to use the online chat - doesn't work. Guess what - that leaves calling them up as the only option I can see to even ask about it. The message is pretty clear that phone is the only way they seem to want contact with you, and the cynical side of me wonders if they even WANT that.

On my CSP I can call and get a human on the phone who has a brain and a clue right away. I wouldn't wager I could get the same with Amex, but I'm willing to find out.

I'm doing it now just to see what they say. I will report what they say and do.

And the cyber bullies don't really bother me, they are just tough guys behind a screen who probably haven't gotten laid without paying for it in ages and would never say what they type to your face.

Ok I called Amex and pointed out to the rep I had met the spending and did not get the bonus which I was told was on the card. The rep confirmed I had the bonus (should have had it) and checked the spending and confirmed I met the spending during the time I should have, and said I should have gotten it.

She said she did not know why I did not receive it, but that she would forward it to their marketing team who would investigate and determine why I did not get it and let me know by letter when they found out.

I always hate hearing "you will receive a letter in the mail...." from creditors as it usually means something bad for me. This doesn't necessarily, just most of the time I've heard that it was bad.

Anyway, that's all I have. I will update when I hear anything.

Sorry, honestly, that post was made when I was frustrated at dealing with something offline. I generally do try to avoid things I don't care to read, as well as hold my tongue because I'm not aware of what is going through someone else's head.

And I figure if I called you out in public I should make the apology public as well.

Though I do occasionally disagree with your stance on things, I had no right to insult you like that.

Apologies.

I disagree with myself sometimes, usually after the fact when I realize I did something stupid (happens more than I'd like to admit).

If you can be big enough to do what you did, I can respect that and apologize for firing back. I shouldn't have done that I should have let it go. So I'm sorry too.

Hopefully we can move on and be friends and that's as it should be!

I am empathize with you. I need to spend $500 on my new gold card to get the 25000 points. I'd be miffed if they didn't give it to me, but perhaps there's another way?

I'd try sending a message from their website.
