American Express EMV Request

Last week on Friday [9/13] i requested my Amex cards to come with the EMV chip, well i was suppose to get them on Monday [9/16] but do to Amex not putting my apartment letter on the envelope UPS placed them on hold till Amex fixed the error . I ended up receiving them till the next day -Tuesday.

Anyways I received them and this is how they look for anyone wanting to see how they look.

Thank you for posting the photo's! I upgraded my BCE last week and I noticed that it seems thicker than the original card. Does that seem to be the case with the gold card? I will probably upgrade my gold soon.

Ok. After posting this first message, I called AMEX and ordered the Chip & Signature version of the gold. Hopefully soon we will be able to use that feature in the US. :)

Just got mine today w/ the Blue Sky- the Zync should've been here today but I'll wait until Monday before I call (again).

I wish the cards were truly clear vs frosted at the top and clear at the bottom

MB- that, and they only look best the first few days. My old card looks like it went through the shredder without being destroyed; the blue square certainly peeled off from all the swiping.

The only AmEx I've ever had that doesn't look 20 years old after 100-150 swipes is my SPG. That card has held up remarkably well. The rest, not so much.

Is there anywhere in the U.S. that is actually taking EMV cards yet?

not sure- i will have to check about that when i take out my old cards once again.. i dont want to shred them- im keeping them as my fist Amex cards.

Not sure, but i have seen about 4 small businesses in my city that have the Emv reader- ive been to the touristic area of my county and over half of the businesses accept Emv..
