lol you should see some of my UK cards. They seem to handle swiping even less well (Probably because most will never be swiped), I had one where the entire plastic layer pealed off. American Express does seem to do a good job with the embossed numbers though, my Amex cards are just about the only cards I have where the numbers don't rub off (Apart from my debit card but thats unembossed).
Amex UK Platinum Charge Card
Amex Blue Cash USA
Amex US Gold Corporate Card
World MasterCard Capital One UK (Free abroad + Cashback + Free Cash Withdrawals with no interest)

I have seen many places with the readers also, including Kroger, Target, and Best Buy. I have tried my EMV cards in them and they either do not even acknowledge the card is there or give an decline error(Target).

AMEX Zync: NPSL (2011) (large expenses)

Discover IT: 5K (2010)

USAA Plat MC: 7K (2010) (everyday expenses, places that do not take Amex or Discover)

that doesnt sound nice. I will try and use the emv next time i see a business that takes them- hopefully it works out.

Another reason i got the EMV was so that my card can look different that way when i go out with some friends im the only with the EMV >_< -hopefully they dont upgrade till Amex does replacements

I'm w/ nismoZtuner- I mainly got it for looks and conversation. I don't plan to go anywhere internationally right now, but it's a cool addition.
Currently: American Express Blue Sky, American Express Zync, Chase Freedom Visa, Capital One Newcomers--->converted to Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard NO AF
