Convinced my dad to get the BCE

Postby C.K. » Tue Sep 17, 2013 9:30 am

Well I finally convinced my dad to get the BCE but only because he got an offer in the mail for 250 reward dollars for the 1st $1,000 spent in the 1st 3 months instead of the normal 100 reward dollar offer Amex advertises on their website. No surprise, he got approved. Now I'm wondering if they'll send him one with an EMV chip automatically or if he'll have to call Amex if he wants one.

my guess would be that he would have to call and request it like you have to request the contactless chip if you want that. Otherwise the card will come with just a magnetic strip

It is my understanding you have to request the EMV chip.
