If there is a way to do so, I am unaware of it. I would like to see that as well.

Good Afternoon VisaSpeak and Robrus1,

I work for American Express and at this time there is no way for you or for us to see the number of points earned by transaction as it's calculated automatically by our system (though you can see the number of points earned during the billing cycle on your statement or on the Membership Rewards section of our website). Typically for the Platinum Card, it's 1 point per dollar unless you're using a bonus point promotion on our website (e.g. ShopAmex, Travel Service, etc.). As always should you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out by dialing the number on the back of your card. We're here for you :)

I haven't yet had the time to add my formal disclosure but I am required to state that I'm an employee of American Express and that my actions, word and opinions are my own and may not necessarily reflect those of American Express.

Thank you, that's what I had assumed. Nice to see an AmEx employee here. Welcome.

Isn't ShopAmex the site where you can redeem MR points for merchandise? Amex eliminated the Membership Rewards Mall, where you could earn bonus MR points for shopping, two years ago.

Travis, not to blow you up, but you started working for Amex this month as a Tier 1 customer service rep and you're spreading incorrect information.

There's a bit more detail about your points breakdown on the Membership Rewards page. If you click "Rewards" at the top of the Amex website after logging in, you'll end up on the MR page. From there, select "Points Summary." On that page, you can select a tab for "Activity Detail." Set the dates you want to see and you'll get a breakdown of regular and bonus points earned and on what dates. With a little work, you can match the Activity Detail up with your statement to figure out where you earned your bonus points.

Cumbersome, but it works.

You're correct on both statements, djrez4, my mistake! I'm currently at home so I don't have access to our intranet to check all of the current bonus opportunities (though I'll update my original message tomorrow when I can confirm them all).

Thanks for pointing that out! :)

I should also note that since this is a new account, I'm subject to moderation approval so pardon my delays in edits or responses!

How can you tell when Travis started working for AmEx and what his position in the company is?

It's very easy to find out things about people when they post them in public.
