I had chatted with my husband about getting an Amex card back when I was 21, 22, 23. He said they were all charge cards, and he wasn't interested in a charge card, even though we never carry a balance anyways. So I delayed getting an Amex for another 10 years, which was how long it took for me to start paying attention to credit and reading up on it on my own. I picked up a revolver, and was curious if they were relatively recent additions to Amex's product line, or if DH had just been misinformed back in the day.

I was 25 when I got my first AMEX card...a Green...in 1976. Was one year into a new job, making good money at a new location, and figured an AMEX card was what I needed !
Retired, and in the process of retiring cards!
