I have a question about this card. Since I already have a SPG Gold Preferred account through my Plat, if I were to apply for this card and spend the 5K in 6 months, once the Starpoints have been credited, where do they go? Do I have to transfer them from Amex over to my existing SPG account?

I figured it out. You just enter your SPG account number through the application. That offer just seemed too good to pass up so I applied and was approved. Not sure what my limit is yet.
