Credit Threshold Before Financial Review

Postby Robrus1 » Sun Jul 28, 2013 9:40 am

I would be ok if I got FR'd, but it certainly sounds like a pain in the arse and I have no desire to go through it. That being said, I'd like to get a CLI on my BCP to 25K, but I wasn't sure if that's a mandatory FR or if that's about the max you can do before they want to see bank statements. Anyone know?

I have a blue cash original 5% drug, gas, supermarket I have a 34k limit at 35k they want to pull my tax returns. My understanding is it varies based on income, but I have asked for 35k and they want to pull tax returns 34k no problem, you will know when you hit the brick wall like I have

If they request tax documents for a CLI that's totally different than if they FR you. FR is mandatory or they close the accounts, where for a CLI it's up to you if you want the increase. You can say no thanks and move on, and from what I've read they do not shut you down while it's in progress unlike a real FR.

I'd say don't worry about it.

Ah that's good to know, thanks guys. It has been about 3 months since I requested my last CLI on this card. Think it's too soon to go for another? Is it better to call or do it online?

I asked for a CLI to $25K on my BCE through their automated phone system. They approved with no FR.

So is 25k limit the general consensus that AMEX wants to FR or see tax info? I am at 22k on my AMEX Costco card and haven't had an increase in almost a year. I have been holding off just because I don't want to go through to FR deal.

FWIW, they started off my BlueSky at $25k without any FR. I'm curious what will happen if I get an auto CLI.
