im okay with paying $175 A/Y, im sure i can get the card fees to pay by it self with rewards.. but for the platinum I doubt it :/

Plus the Gold card has been my all time dream card since i was around 8 yeard old (thats the first time i saw the "spartan Card")
promised my self that i will get it some day- HEY about 12 years later its in my wallet :)

+1 ! And regarding AMEX and "elite" status, for the vast majority of people who have credit cards and DON'T frequent forums such as this, AMEX is still King and Green is a good beginning. Yes, there are issues with their Customer Service, but most folks probably will never have to deal with them.
