Amex rumors

Postby AMEXPlatino86 » Mon Jul 15, 2013 7:27 pm

I have a source who works at American Express that I talk to every once in a while and he gives me the "news" that happens at the company. Without giving me specific details here are the facts from the rumors coming from the horses mouth.

*There are supposedly two new cards in development. They are suppose to be revolvers and at least one may be co-branded. In terms of design one may be purple and the other a gold-ish color. Remember this may change.

*The Zync card is not disappearing. They retracted the card to make changes to the benefits. I nor my friend know what those changes are. So it will no longer be a unicorn just a horse with a nasty bump.

*The Platinum cards are suppose to have some added benefits to the cards next year. Once again I don't know what they are or when it's exactly going to happen.

I hope these ease the questioning behind some of these products but remember they are in development and subject to change. All I ask is that you don't ask me to get more information about them because I do not wish to put their job at risk. Enjoy!!!

Excellent! I'm glad I still have the Zync sock-drawered for now, but if the new benefits are a little more enticing I may have to put the Blue Sky down for a little bit...

Any guesses on when any of this will roll out (if it does)? 3 months, 6 months?
Currently: American Express Blue Sky, American Express Zync, Chase Freedom Visa, Capital One Newcomers--->converted to Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard NO AF

Like I said I don't know when or what effect this is going to happen. Things can change. They've been me tips on what I should do with my Amex. Plus I'm trying to get a position at Amex. So every time we talk he gives me little bits of information about what they are doing product wise or how things in the company work.

Exciting news. I wanted a Zync, but didn't app for one before they disappeared! I wonder what the new cards are. Ooooh the excitement!

I'm hoping we can get something better than the Amex gold and prg. Those cards need the most improvement, in my eyes.

I doubt they will add anything else to the charge cards. They have six solid card not to mention different variations of them (which adds approximately another 6 or so.)

I have my own sources as well.

I hear they are really messing with the benefits on the gold and platinum cards to make them sound better while actually reducing them. This seems consistent with the statement about new benefits. They are adding new things that almost duplicate some of the old benefits while giving them fancy names to market them. You might get a $50 hotel credit rather than $100+free breakfast for example.

I do here that they are actively developing these so no one knows what the final product will look like.
