You would have to have had a Cap One card and have called them, typically in regards to a CLI (which normally you have less than a snowball's chance in hell of seeing) to hear that to excuse the fact you are basically stuck with a 500 limit for as long as you keep the card. Basically the message is, it's for your own good you have a toy limit you should be grateful and thank them for that. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound.....

Again Platinum probably has better, and the Centurion will get the best of the best, but the rest is at best average at worst, useless.

I have had some pretty questionable experiences with Platinum CS. I always expect it will be better but in reality it's not. I honestly think the only advantage calling the number on the back of the Platinum card versus any other is it puts you higher in the queue...When I call I always use the number from my Platinum and give my Platinum acct number, even if I’m calling about my SPG.

Right now, I think Chase takes the top spot followed by Discover with Amex coming in a weak third. My experiences, YMMV.
American Express (2005): Premier Rewards Gold & Blue Cash Preferred
Chase: Freedom & UA Club USAA: Signature Visa & American Express
Discover it Bank of Hawaii Hawaiian Airlines WEMC Synchrony Sam's MC

That's good to know thanks for sharing that rocky. I assumed you got better service for the Platinum.

Actually I would not even rank Amex third. I've found both FNBO and even US Bank to have all Americans who are far more helpful than the offshored support that Amex uses. Now, IF you get an American, I've had top notch service from Amex, but if not, it just sucks and that's being totally honest.

I'd pay a higher annual fee to bring the CS back to the US - I say to the suits they may be cheap but if they are worthless what are you REALLY saving? You're still paying but not getting anything for it. What's the point?

I fight the same battle at my company they offshored work and these guys will find any excuse to get out of doing the work including just trash canning the work (yes they actually just deleted stuff to get out of it) but my company still uses them because they are cheap. I've just come to the mindset that when execs are that focused on their bonuses for now, I guess they deserve to get ripped off like this and the results, though typically people like me end up dealing with the consequences while they get a bonus for "cost savings". Our system of capitalism in the US sure is lame in a lot of ways. I'm not a socialist but watching what goes here at least gives me a more open mind.

Does this have anything to do with payments? I made a payment to my BCE on Thursday morning and nothing seems to have updated. Concerned, I checked the payments button and it shows my payment has processed/posted. This isn't settling well with me.

I believe so. I read on FICO that others were seeing the same thing. I'm still seeing their system is very slow to update. It used to be very fast, but in the last week it's become very slow.

Wonderful. The payment even cleared my bank. Incidentally, I'm switching from PNC to the new Discover Cash Back checking. Pretty nice with some good perks.

If I hadn't just got Chase, and if Discover didn't hate me, I might do the same. Let us know how that is.

I rarely write checks, but they give free checks with the account. Also, any bill pay from their site pays 10c cash back. Every debit card swipe is 10c cash back. I figure I'll use the debit card for any purchase that's under $10 if it's not in a bonus category on any card I have. The cash back from the IT card and the checking account fall into the same pool, which is nice.
