Are you guys enjoying the Amex community forum?

Postby MemberSince99 » Thu Jun 20, 2013 6:06 am

I've signed up mostly to be sure I get the same name I have here (surprised no one else grabbed that to be honest) and started posting over there.

I was surprised that some people were doubting there is an Amex blacklist. I mean please, I can guarantee you there is one, I have done time on it. Probably better not to pipe up about that over there though.

In truly thinking about that, I'm wondering if I just lucked out in getting off of that, or if the ruling about Amex collection practices last year had anything to do with it. Not that it REALLY matters but curious people like me think that stuff to death.

Anyway, I make it a point to check it out daily now how about you guys?

I use it as a fun forum. Most folks over there are just Amex enthusiast not credit card junkies like most of us. I try not to take anything too serious and if someone needs accurate info I refer them here of maybe FT if its points related.

To compare, I would say this is a university and the Amex Community forum is more like high school :-)

I’ll still get all my guidance here and when I want to play, I’ll go there.

This is pretty accurate. I have been going over there occasionally but it is more Amex enthusiasts, not necessarily credit card savvy people. It has gotten better over there though. A lot of the dummies that were annoying me at first don't seem to be around anymore. The one good thing over there is occasionally the Amex mods/reps will answer questions, which is nice, but I'm not going to poke the Amex bear.

The Amex bear was created on CCF by 99, not the Amex Community.
