Denied, Risk score to high according to Amex.I just got approved last week for the Sapphire and 4 hard inquiries.
Apparently they do not like that.3 other cards with 5,000 limits for over 2 years and nothing negative.

I ran 2,643 dollars through the Amex card in 2 months and made 6 payments to them in that time.
Pretty sure at this point that it was the inquiries.

They pulled Experian...732.

Thats really too bad, I am sorry to hear that. In six months from now I am sure you get approved no problem!

I just got approved about 3 months ago for Sapphire Preferred (will be 4 next month) and I'm sure I have 4 inquiries. My EX score is higher but still, doesn't look too good for me.

Sorry you got denied. It seems like you would be a shoo in.

That's what I thought, maybe next time around.

I read somewhere that if you are denied at the 60 day, you can re-apply after 90 days....any thoughts?

It could be the inquiries but you really haven't demonstrated a need for a CLI. If you put $2600+ in one month that would be a different story, but over two months...

Every CLI I've gotten was after a few months of exceeding the limit in one month and having to pay it down to use it again. So in the months leading up to your next request make sure you run $3k a month through the card. When you call explain to them it's too inconvenient to have to pay your bill several times a month. Also tell them your credit is important to you and in order to protect it you need a higher limit to keep your utilization below 30%.

Others will no doubt have differing opinions and of course YMMV.

I've read the same thing I would try it worst that can happen is you keep the same limit.
