Just got my first one!

Postby RotaryP7 » Wed Jun 12, 2013 3:30 pm

I just got approved for an AMEX Blue; Few questions, is it fairly easy to get? Curious. I do have another CC & a Chevron CC and due owe somewhat something. I've never had a late payment though, always thought I had horrible credit for some reason?

Is the Blue card great? I just realized they also have BCE and BCP. But I'm guessing Blue is good for starters. I do like the no annual fee and rewards.

And, do I need to wait until my card arrives to check the CL or can I call and find out myself?

Thanks guys.

Congrats and welcome to the club and the forum.

I don’t have the Blue but many folks here do and they seem to like it.

You can call and ask about your APR and CL.

It is a fairly easy card to get from Amex.

The card, I don't think it's of any use. 1pt/$ is what almost all cards give now days. I have the card and it just sits in my drawer, I have never used it.

You can call to check CL or wait until it arrives. The letter should tell you your CL.

Main Card: Amex Platinum
For gas: Penfed Platinum Cash Rewards
For travel & dining: Chase Sapphire Preferred

I saw the BCE, didn't know it even existed when I applied for the Blue. It's mostly going to be a backup CC anyways, I just wanted to start with something simple from Amex. Do you guys know if I could later on upgrade to the BCE? Either way, I won't be using the card that much so it may not even fit my needs.
