Got the BCP today

Postby MemberSince99 » Thu Jun 06, 2013 7:06 pm

It even has the 99 member since date on it from the get go. All activated and ready to build up some spend. Hoping for a 3x CLI in August.

Thank you Robrus1! I really am enjoying these Amex cards the Gold is an almost daily spender and the Blue will get heavy use too.

I was just looking at the paperwork that came with the card, and they gave me an APR of 12.99% on it. I thought wow that seems to be pretty low as when I got one last year if I remember right it was over 21%. They must have given me best terms as there was no EX Fico there, which I got with the BCP last year.

Good going man! My BCE is 20%+ so I'd say you made out pretty well with that one.

Well, I spontaneously upgraded my Blue to BCP after I did the math and realized just how much cash back I'm missing out on. Does anyone know if an "upgrade" with Amex is a HP or a SP? It says I'll have the same card number, interest rate, and CL, so I would think it'd be a soft, but I don't know for sure.

After analyzing my average annual spending and what categories I spend how much in, I did the math and the BCP should pay me about $500 per year after the annual fee has been paid. That pays for my Platinum annual fee and gives me $50. I should've done this combo a long time ago. The convenience store I buy beer at shows all purchases as fuel in the sub-category for Amex, so I'll be getting 3% cash back on beer, which is great.

Wouldn't that be funny if you got more cashback for beer than gas?

It should be a soft pull if any at all. Not even sure they would soft you for that, but there should not be a hard inquiry.

Awesome that's good to know. My girlfriend's gas guzzling suv will make me some money since I'll have her as an AU, but in my car I only spend about $140 a month on gas. I probably spend that much on beer, if not more, so beer vs gas for my car means it's possible lol. I'm going to buy it anyway, might as well get 3% back, plus I don't think that category is capped is it? It's just the groceries part I believe.

Also, how long did it take for your online account to show the BCP after you applied for it?
