Also change the "Check your spending ability" or "Would my charge be approved button" to "Put in a huge number to ask for an immediate F/R"

Just caught up with the thread. Lol, glad you made it out alive!

Does the backdating apply for all your Amex cards or only the one in question? My Platinum has 2009 but BC has 2011. Always wondered about that.

Thanks Scooby!

Mine are both backdated to 1999. I would think that since your Plat has 2009 the BC should be backdated as well - have you looked on your reports and checked? If it's not you could contact them and don't say backdating just mention that your BC has the wrong member since date on it and you'd like to get it corrected to the same member since date your Plat has of 2009.

Ah! Makes sense...don't mention backdating a la "poke the bear!" Lol...I'll look into my CRs and give them a call. Nice idea.

I'll also try to do this with my BofA card...I first opened one up with them back in 2007...but dropped the card once they changed it to an AF during the whole bank raucous. I ditched them for that. So will they be generous and give it back to me?! Who knows, worth a shot.

If I was the guy who handled their telephone prompts I would so change it to: "Thank you for calling American Express. For English press 1. For Spanish, please hang up and call Mexico. To hear your account balance press 1. To hear payment summary press 2. To report your card lost or stolen press 3. To request a financial review press 4. To poke the bear press 5. All others, please press 0 and someone in India will be happy to assist you."
