Amex has their own internal scoring system as well. Did they send you EX or that score I wonder? I don't see where they mentioned the score as a factor though so I assume that's fine. It's the usual list of reasons when a creditor can't point to a black mark on your credit, basically. Translated it means give it more time. I bet in 6 months you are good to go with it.

BofA seems not to be really big on giving CLIs. You've had that card over a year now you'd think they could have given you a little bump up to 1k at least. Given it's your oldest card I would say no matter how frustrating it is, don't close it until at least October or whenever you get your BCE.

99- To be honest, I'm not sure. What I got is apparently a soft pull that they used on April 17, 2013, and my score was 721 at the time, but when Chase pulled it, it was 736. I think it was the fact that EX updated after my balance cut at the end of last month on my BOFA card is what lead to my approval on the Freedom. Yeah, but I think I have too many cards already, so I'll probably close the PRG in October, and I really don't want more inquiries so I'll wait a year or two. BUT, I could go for it in 6 months again.

As for BOFA, I was thinking the same thing. I think the reason why It's still there is because I went to my personal banker to be approved for the card and at that time my income was 4,200 (It has gone up to nearly 3x that amount because of getting another job, and getting more hours at work.) I am hoping soon that they will do it themselves or I'll just call and ask. I think I'll permanently keep it open, since I don't hurt my AAOA to much. But getting the BCE is still a card and I want to get and hopefully it'll be only a matter of time.

You will get it I'm sure Snowman. Hang in there. Income may be a factor with that as well. Amex is said to like income.

Really, they've never denied me on the basis of income, but then again, I list student as my occupation and 12k from my 2 jobs and any creditor I've applied with has never denied me on income. And yeah, I've heard Amex like high income, and Chase is starting to dent Amex's intended clients. But yeah, I really have all the cards I want, so I'm not planning to app for anything for at least a couple of years and let my inquiries come off my report.
