Annual spending for Centurion Card

Postby FloridaRealtor » Tue May 21, 2013 7:23 am

I am in the process of starting my own real estate brokerage in Florida. With all my expenses I should be spending over $250k fairly easily. I would like to acquire a personal Centurion Card.

My question is: should I use my personal card for the first few years until I qualify then switch to a business Amex, or should I just start day one using a business Amex?

Also, would it help my case at all that my father has a Centurion Card?

I've read many times that Amex frowns upon using a personal card as a business card. How true that is, I can't say from personal experience maybe others can.

If so I would not risk it and would use a personal card for personal spending and get a business card for your business.

I honestly doubt they would care if your dad has a Centurion. They only care about seeing you having the assets and spending to offer you one. I doubt it would have any bearing at all, unless of course your dad has a friend high up there. Otherwise, can't see it would matter.

All good questions.

I would keep personal separate from business. It's always good practice.

As for your dad having the card, I don't think that really matters to Amex. It's all about you and your credit.

Having said that, always ask Amex directly. Best to get it straight from the horses mouth.

Good luck.
