Re: Lounges

You get into DL, US, and AA lounges when flying on those airlines. You also get a Priority Pass lounge membership. Priority pass lounges are listed here.

Congratulations! +1 on studying all the benefits, as there are a lot. As a new Platinum member myself, I recently brushed up on all available benefits. I'm trying to make the most of them whenever possible. I'll be going to Europe next month so I plan on using the airport lounges, and $200 airline credit. Make sure to enroll in these things. Again, congrats! Hope you enjoy your new card.

I concur. You must familiarize yourself with the benefits. Use them if you can. I've been able to use the medical coverage and got my $1800 back no issues or hassles.

Yep. To me, the lounge benefits almost entirely make the card worth it. Like the others have said, familiarize yourself with all the perks so as to best take advantage of them all. Sign up for all the complimentary car-rental elite tiers. Register with SPG Gold status. Choose your airline to apply to $200 incidentals coverage to. Download the Amex and Priority Pass apps so you can figure out which lounges you have access to whenever you travel. Apply for the Global Entry Trusted Traveler program and Amex will reimburse you for the $100 application fee. Call and ask them to send you a chip & signature version, overnighted.

And finally, plunk that pretty piece of prestige down on the bartop and impress the pretty girl/boy that you're trying to get the attention of. ;)

I know things are different in LA, but round these here parts, it ain't worth talkin' to a girl/guy who needs to see some fancy plastic before getting interested.

LOL The last time someone told me "wow is that a black amex card?" I told them ya.... I got a black sharpie and carefully colored the card black.....

The funny thing was, they actually believed it as I was using the back-up spare plastic centurion card. Amex provides the primary card holder with 2 cards in their name. One titanium and one plastic. Guess the plastic card is meant to be the weekend warrior card.

I thought the plastic one was for travel so you don't set off all the airport detectors??
