Please, please, please my I get approved for the card. I have the recon line number available - hope that I do not have to use it.

I remember back in the 90s when my parents used to have the card it was such a symbol still is today though. I am looking at mixing up the range of credit that I do use and this card would be perfect for my needs.

People can (and still do) argue about the worth of this card as it relates to its competitors, but at least you get instant respect when you plunk it down at the bar, both from the bartender and your date, unless it's the same person.

Whether rightfully or wrongfully, speaking as a former high-end club bartender of days gone by, anyone who paid with a precious metal-colored Amex always got our attention...

Haha, good to know Z...but I think as long as the gold has the NPSL and purchase protection, the gold will attract new card members. As for points, yeah, there are cards with better programs, but the gold has prestige, which may not be the same as years ago, but is still impressive.
Wallet: Amex BCE & Chase Freedom. (Credit Card dieting since 2014)

Darn I did not get approved for it - oh well. I called the recon line just now and was invited to apply for the green card. I don't quite meet the income requirements - I did call a few days ago when I did apply for the card and was encouraged to apply.

Oh well time to work my way up through AMEX levels I guess.

FASTSRT8 LOLOLOL !!!!!!!!

Money - yes it is a very prestigious card which is one of the factors that lead me to apply, you don't really see too many AMEX charge cards here in Australia despite the massively growing availability of AMEX.
