This could be the reason Amex is starting to roll out their new Centurion lounges (Vegas is the first to have one); to maintain travel value with their prestige cards. Problem is, as it currently stands, only Centurion holders get access to it for free. All other Amex cardmembers have to fork over $50/person for access.
Not sure about US centurion holders but in Canada we were all provided Priority Pass Access which gives you access to all those lounges mentioned and then some.
But then, if you fly BusinessFirst or First then it's a moot point as you get access automatically.
