Is there a model to a first purchase? Should i put some extra special consideration into the matter?

I don't believe I ever read anything that was confirmed, but there have been a couple of discussions online regarding your first purchase allegedly having an effect on future CLIs and the likelihood of causing a financial review.

Life is too short to put that much thought into it, though. As long as the information you provided on your application is correct and you pay your bill, I woudn't give another thought about it.

My first Amex Platinum purchase was buying dinner for my older brother and all of us groomsmen at Morton's Steakhouse the night of the bachelor party. I've gotta admit -- I wasn't sure the charge would go through! Thankfully, no embarrassment.

Selfmade- The inquiry is merged into one since Vandal applied for both charge and revolver cards. Or else normally it would have been two.

Vandal- Congrats on the approval, If I were you ask to upgrade to the PRG (its much better then the Gold IMO.) Congrats on the BCE, that is on my list of cards that I really want. My first purchase with my PRG was at a BJ's, and it was one of my friend's birthday's. Use it for whatever you like and over time it will grow with you, but if the AF is to much for you to be of benefit, just close or cancel it

Just pulled the credit report, and it was a single hit on the report. And also I was approved for 6.6k for the BCE
