I asked for 3x but I've read it's 90days after a no and 6 months after a yes. Is this correct.

For those with more than 3 credit cards in their name, do you carry all of them at the same time?

I have six cards, but I only carry two. The rest are at home in the safe, aging and reporting zero balances. My Platinum and my CSP are the two I use and carry daily. They are both amazing cards, and they are all I really need.

Robrus, why not carry your Discover IT as well, so you get max points back on your gas purchases?

I find that doing an app spree every six months and showing that you can handle a large limit by charging alot and paying in full are helpful in getting approvals and CLIs. I havent' been denied for a CC in years. My available credit is much more than I make in a year.

Discover IT is 5% on home improvement and 1% on everything else this quarter. I was going to use IT to buy a new cooktop over the weekend, but I got an email from Chase saying if I bought through UR on Lowe's website they'd give me 5X points. I called to confirm that there wasn't a spending cap like there is with Discover, and was told there was no spending cap for the 5X points, so I chose to use Chase. Got 10K points with one purchase. Usually when there's a Discover category @ 5% that I'll actually use, then yeah, I'll get it out and use it for the quarter, I just don't carry it otherwise.

Ah, makes sense.

In other news, wondering if it would be a good idea for you to pick up the Lowe's Amex if you do a lot of home-related shoppping?
