Got invite for gold, should I accept it?

Postby apply2amex » Mon Mar 25, 2013 10:20 pm

I got declined for Amex blue cash everyday on July 2012. I had a secure credit card at that time my experian score was 726. When i applied for BCE Amex declined saying had too many inquires on credit report though I had good score. I didn't apply any card after that and I waited.

I got my first credit card from chase on Feb 2013 with credit limit 5000 also my secure card also converted to unsecured credit card on Feb 2013. i have total of 10k limit now. I have got an invite to apply Amex gold card now. My current experian score 734. I have following questions.

1) Should I apply for this GOLD card now?
2) I am not interested in charge card. If I apply BCE again will it got thru?
3) Another thing I noticed was. I have experian account where it shows my score as 734. But when i applied for my chase card and in the credit report letter the score was only 692
they got the report from experian only but score was less than what I see on my experian report.
4) I got the new chase card some less than 60 days. Can I apply for this card with in 60 days time frame.

I am not a credit card favored guy. But I am looking for Amex card. :)
dont want to apply if it is not worth a try.

Please advise

I wouldn't! bother with the Gold if I were you. For the $125 annual fee, you really don't get much. Don't app for anything for the next 6 months and then try again for the BCE. Keep in mind they won't let you convert a charge card into a revolver.

I called up amex and told them I don't want gold. Instead I will go for BCE. They took my application and I got approved with $2000 limit.

Thanks for the suggessions
